Catherine is a founding member of The Hartfel Ballet, and
has been performing with the company as a Principal
Dancer since January of 2001. She has danced in many
original choreographic works by John Welch, including
Appalachian Interpretations, In Spirit, Christmas Hymns,
the Tango variation from Stravinsky’s L’Histoire du Soldat,
and Baroque to Brazil. Catherine teaches at the Box Dance
Studio as an instructor in ballet, jazz, hip-hop, and as an
Assistant Instructor in the Step in the Dark Dance Program
for the Blind. She gained her BA degree in Dance from the
University of California at Irvine.
Brent Lewis started dancing at the age of 11 in the Allan
Hancock College Youth Dance program in Santa Maria, CA.
He has participated in many shows including the Nutcracker,
where he performed the part of Cavalier. Once in high school,
he went on to participate in main shows for the college dance
program where he stayed for three years, performing and
choreographing. He has also been invited as a guest
instructor to many high schools on the Central Coast of
California. He currently studies dance at UC Irvine where he
is working towards a BFA in Choreography.
Brenda Torres - Instructor (Hip-Hop, Jazz, Combo)

Born and raised in Southern California. Brenda has been
dancing for about 10 years. Her love for performing began with
choir and that led her to her infatuation for dance.

At Santa Ana College she began training in modern, hip hop,
jazz and ballet. She has received training from choreographers
such as Mike Experanza, Heather Gillette, Kari Jensen, and
Jennifer Backhaus.

She now dances at Chapman University and teaches at Valley
High School. She also teaches at various other studios in
Orange County and is often found teaching workshops for all
ages of students.
Jonah is currently attending UCI and is a member of
the exclusive Hip Hop group Kaba Modern.
Jennifer is currently attending Chapman University and has
danced for over 15 years. .
Joel has over 12 yaars of teaching experience. He was a
director of the Saddleback High School Dance Team for
over 10 years. He has taught at various dance studios
over the years. He has the title of Mr Latino 2000 which
he actively represents at various functions. He was the
Artistic Director of a dance studio inTustin where Images
Dance Company was founded.
Jessy is in her senior year at Foothill High School.
She has been dancing for over 14 years. She has
also done gymnastics for many years and has
competed in both dance and gymnastics.
Christy Beth has been dancing for over 25 years
Christine is in her senior year at Beckman High School.
She has been dancing for over 14 years
Krystal is attending UCI and has been dancing for over
15 years.
Breanna is a senior at Orange County High School of
the Arts. She started out in the Ballet Folklorico
Conservatory for 2 years. She moved to the Production
and Design Conservatory to learn Stage Management.
She has been dancing for over 14 years.
Heather currently attends Santiago Canyon College and
Santa Ana College. She recently graduated from
Orange County High School of the Arts. She was in the
Classical Dance Conservatory for 2 years and in the
Commercial Dance Conservatory for 4 years. She has
been dancing for over 15 years and has 4 years of
teaching experience.
Heather has been dancing for over 20 years and has over
10 years of teaching experience. Her dancing experience
includes dancing in Disneyland parades, dancing with the
American Ballet Theater in the Nutcracker and Sleeping
Beauty, as well as dancing in an MTV music video. She
has danced with many nationally ranked dance teams
and was awarded Miss Dance 1999. She was also the
head choreographer at the Brea-Olinda High School for 5
years.
